The Young Men of Vision Mentoring Program (Y.M.O.V.) is the Middle School component and 1st tier in the 3-tiered
youth organization of Gentlemen of Vision Rites of Passage Enterprises, Inc. Y.M.O.V. was founded in 2010 by Mr.
Quintton Williams & Mr. Tedros Solomon on the campus of Westview Middle School in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Williams
believed that in order for the continued success of G.O.V. and the overall community that mentorship was needed at a
younger age. Over the years as the program developed so did the programs need to reach more young men in the
community. Y.M.O.V. now serves young men all over the St. Louis area as a community-based organization.
Y.M.O.V. engages middle school males in positive social and academic programs to ensure that all members will be
socially and academically prepared for the high school level. Y.M.O.V. is built on four core concepts that are instilled in
each of its members through the values of discipline, leadership and
teamwork. The four Core Concepts of Y.M.O.V. are Academic
Performance, Brotherhood/Unity, Community Service and
Discipline/Attitude.
We use stepping as a tool to instill discipline. Y.M.O.V. is one of the top ranked Step Teams in the country and has won 3 national championships since we began. We travel and compete all over the country! During our travel we conduct college visits, team building activities and have fun!!
We combat the lure of Gang activity by giving the young men a
brotherhood to fill that sense of belonging that street gangs often
attempt to fill.
At the end of the young man’s time in the program, they are promoted
into the high school program G.O.V. Still connected to the “Family of
Vision” and begin to mentor the little brothers in Y.M.O.V. and are less
likely to fall into the wrong crow in high school because they already belong to a tight knit group.
The Gentlemen of Vision Rites of Passage Enterprises, Inc. is a community-based program currently servicing males from
various school districts within the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. The organization has an impeccable 100 percent high
school graduation and college admission/retention rate! Since 2009, every member has successfully completed high
school and accepted into a college, university, trade school or the U.S. Military. In addition to servicing high school
members, G.O.V. has extended its services to middle school and Collegiate members.
